Though foreclosures are hard to come by in the Triangle these days, there are still usually a few options available. The reason that foreclosures are so rare is that with the increase in equity we have seen with our seller's market, instead of going into foreclosure most sellers will just sell their home for a profit and either rent a home or buy a much smaller home.
One other thing to note is that foreclosures are not typically priced as well as they were at 2009 or 2010. The margin to fix and flip at a profit is smaller than it used to be. Estate sales can be better in the current market, partially because there are more of them and you can find better options.
