I've been a full time realtor for the last 14 years and a licensed general contractor for the past 5 years. I've built a couple of custom homes and renovated several rental properties, and I can analyze a home in detail so that you know what you're buying "behind the walls." I don't have x-ray vision, but each decade of homebuilding had various things like asbestos, lead based paint, polybutylene pipes, and masonite siding that are all now phased out. The home may appraise by lending standards, but you could have a lot of repairs that actually make it not a good value. I'll make sure you know what you're buying up front!

On the selling side I'm also an expert at preparing a home for the market to make sure my clients net the most money from the sale. I like to focus on repairs or cosmetics that provide at least a two-fold return on investment, or are necessary for the sale to occur.
