Wake Forest is home to four historic districts: one local historic district, and three historic districts on the National Register of Historic Places. The National Register historic districts include Glen Royal Mill Village, Downtown Wake Forest, and the main district: Wake Forest Historic District. The local historic district is within the Wake Forest Historic District. 

The Wake Forest Historic District features beautiful homes built from the 1880s to early 1900s, and is just a short walk from downtown Wake Forest.
