Governors Village is a popular community in southern Chapel Hill, in Chatham County. The community, around 450 acres, was developed in the late 1990s to around 2010. Governors Village is composed of six neighborhoods:
Amenities include walking trails, playgrounds, tennis courts, and a swimming pool. The Governors Village Shopping Center is home to a grocery store, veterinarian, restaurants, cafes, banks, and more. Governors Village is also located just a few miles from Jordan Lake, a large lake where you can fish, boat, swim, and more.
Governors Village is across the street from Governors Club, a gated community that is home to the Governors Club, which features a 27-hole golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus. The Club is open to non-residents of Governors Club.
