Apex is a nice small town with a cute downtown area. It has lots of nice shops and restaurants, as well as tons of greenways and places to walk or ride a bike. Its slogan is "the peak of good living," and has been on top 10 lists for best places to live in America, most recently with Money Magazine ranking it #1 place to live in America.
Apex Housing Market & Neighborhoods
Before you can decide whether or not claiming a piece of Apex real estate is the best choice for you, take some time to learn about the housing market and neighborhoods. Those who enjoy mid-sized towns will be thrilled to move into the area, as the population consists of about 40,000 residents.
Apex homes have an average price of about $450,000, which allows you to find an attractive home at a fair price for a great floor plan so that you don’t need to worry about breaking your budget. A quick search of the local real estate listings will reveal that many styles and types of homes are available, although most homes in Apex tend to be a little newer than homes in Raleigh or Durham.

Climate for Apex
In the summer, you will enjoy an average temperature of 89 degrees, but it can drop into the 30s when winter arrives. There seem to be always a few nights in the teens in January and February, but mostly the winter is mild with one or two flurries of snow.
Things to Do in Apex NC
The best thing about the town of Apex is it is close to the bigger cities in the Triangle (Raleigh and Durham are 20-30 minutes away), but at the same time, you have a cute small-town main street to eat and shop at as well.
Also, if you have young children and want to let them have a blast, take them to BounceU, which features a range of bounce houses. This attraction allows you to come for the day, or you can set up a birthday party. Living in the area will also give you access to shops, parks and more, ensuring that you will always have plenty of indoor and outdoor activities.
Finding Homes in Apex on Large Lots
It's a little easier to find larger homes on big lots in Apex than in say Raleigh or Cary. Many people move to Apex since it's still close to things, but you can get a little more space to spread out.
